I LOVE the premise of this book. A shooting related tragedy brings two secret high school sweethearts back together as they deal with their guilt and grief. At least that’s what the first few chapters represented. As I dig into the meat of the book the story seemed to disconnect. These seemed like characters who were going to come to terms together with the role they did or didn’t play in events but instead the story seemed to run away from the other and instead seemed to focus on the secret life lead by the male lead. But that was also interesting to read. If the author had split these stories in two and fully fleshed them out then I think the book (or books) would have been more successful but as it is it’s disjointed.
