I need to confess that I thought the cover of the book was hot and so I figured I would give it a shot without reading the synopsis. Therefore, I almost stopped reading it the first couple of pages in. The first couple of pages had me thinking it was going to only be a drama about a school shooting, which is a little too close to home and too sad for me to read.
I am certainly glad I kept reading! Yes the book is somewhat about survivors of a school shooting, but not in the aspect I was thinking of. This is a smoldering hot, brooding, frenetic, passionate love story about two people who were brought back together after the shooting. In the process of their love story they learn how to let go of the past, live in the present, take chances and forgive.
The love scenes are sexy and the story is intense. I loved every bit of it and can't wait to read the next in the series.
