The Ones Who Got Away is the first book I've read by Roni Loren, but it will not be my last!
The premise for this second chance romance is deep and darker, focusing on the survivors of a high school shooting. Not only do we get to see a relationship unfold between Finn and Olivia, but we also get to watch as the four girlfriends (who were not such prior to the tragedy) build true friendships with each other.
Finn and Olivia had a conflicted history in high school, so I am glad they got their second chance to explore their connection and develop a meaningful relationship. Furthermore, I LOVED the banter between Finn and Liv; I found myself smiling or smirking (as called for) throughout the book. This couple had such great chemistry, and they complemented each other so well!
I look forward to reading the other girlfriends' stories.
