The idea of students being harmed is very disturbing. I do not think it should be added into a story that is basically a romance and has a cover with two people kissing. The story starts out very heavy. There is a mention of blood and tragedy. I just can't handle such a heavy topic in a contemporary romance. I do enjoy a romance about an old fling or crush but not in the light of such a heavy topic. If the part about the school tragedy had been left out I am sure the romance would be quite enjoyable but the two topics are jarring together. It is not a romantic setting. The main character's thoughts were heart breaking. Dealing with tragedy and loss is an important topic but should not be paired with this type of romance.
