The premise of the story was really intriguing, as it is based on a group of adults who survived the worst mass school shooting in history. The book tells of Liv and Finn's re-connection 12 years after the tragedy. They had led very different lives since, but sparks immediately fly when they see each other again. This is a second chance romance, which are some of my favorites.

The two main characters are likable and complex, and the supporting characters are also intriguing. This is good since this is the beginning of a series, and I genuinely want to know what happens to the other survivors so I will definitely be continuing the series. One thing I really liked about this book was the lack of romance tropes (jealousy, love triangles, misunderstandings, and the continued waffling back and forth "does he love me, do I love him?"). Both Liv and Finn own their love for each other very early in the book and don't deny their feelings or the chemistry between them. Such a breath of fresh air! It was a pretty quick read and didn't leave me bored once. I highly recommend it.
