The prose in this narrative was tight and deliberate. I felt like I was brought right out into the action too.

There was tons of intrigue, especially in the moments where we are drawn back into the past to the moment of tragedy. I liked that the author didn't say outright what had happened, because it gave me a chance to piece it together myself.

As a teacher, the idea of a tragedy like this happening at a school is terrifying! In part though, I think this is also why I was drawn deeper into the story--a kind of horrified fascination.

The main character was likeable and the pace was quick. I would absolutely read more of this! I can't wait until it hits the shelves and I will be sure to pick up a copy.
