Came for the Romance, Stayed for the Girl Squad

Coming back to her high school after surviving a school shooting makes Liv, understandably anxious. She has worked very hard to put her past in her past. Liv takes part in a documentary about the shooting that will benefit the families of those lost. While there she wants to reconnect with her girlfriends who helped her through tough times following the shooting. What she doesn't expect is also running into Finn, her secret high school boyfriend who left her during the prom when the shooting took place to save his actual prom date. They have both grown up and their experiences have changed them. Will they overcome the past?

I really enjoyed the funny banter between Liv and Finn. Liv is a strong, sexy woman who gives as good as she gets. I really liked her relationship with her 3 friends who also survived the shooting. I hope the author continues to build those relationships. Female friends that aren't in competition with each other is a refreshing break from the norm.
