This book....y'all this book is....I'm just blown away. This is actually my first book by this author and was super thrilled to see that there are more books in store for the other characters in this one!
This is an amazing story of healing, hope and new beginnings with old flames and non-friends. You know those kinds, the ones you knew but were not friends with and were the ones they talked about or teased or mocked. Well those are the survivors and have all come back to retell their story of a horrific event in high school. I felt like I was also back in my high school years, wanting to just do what I needed to do to get out of there. That my friends, is the gift of a good story teller. The feels, the emotions, the power in her words to bring you back to emotions felt years ago, like these characters. I got the goosebumps and the skipped heart beats, along with the retelling of their night.
I loved the reconnection of Finn and Liv, even though in high school they had to be together on the sly because of family backgrounds (ugh). Their feelings came tumbling back to the front burner and never simmered. They will make you laugh and cry and feel the same awkardness in the beginning that they felt.
