I'm not sure how I feel about this book due to the high school gun violence that shattered the innocence of prom night. The two main characters, Liv and Finn, apparently had messed up lives before prom, but obviously the damage was heightened by being survivors of the high school shooting. As the excerpt ends, Liv and Finn seem determined to throw caution to the wind and are going to set off on a clandestine meeting. A thriller novel may be a rough approach to handle the fallout of a high school massacre.
