I was drawn to the book by the cover. It immediately got my imagination going- wondering who the couple were, and how they came to be clinging to one another in the rain. Then I saw that the author was Roni Loren, and I was racing to click the preview button.
I have to admit that when I first started reading, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the story. The characters have a lot of angst and pain, and it felt a bit like I was watching yet another tragedy unfold on the evening news. As I continued to read, I became drawn in to Liv's story. I wanted to know more about her, and about how she and Finn came to be a couple. I also wanted to know all about the mysterious Finn- his past life with Liv, and his current bad-boy FBI agent self. This novel has the potential to create some really deep characters. I like that there is no insta-love, and that there is a real history and deep emotions binding these characters together.
I held my breath when Finn stepped up to Olivia on the deck, and then... I felt like someone had just covered up my eyes right at the good part of a movie!
I was so into the story that I tried to scroll up three times before I realized that the preview had ended, and I found myself shouting out, "Nooo!" Gah! I need that book so that I can see what happens next!
