The Ones We’re meant to find features an ever-shocking plot full of twists and turns. Starting off strong with Celia and Kay’s desire to fund each other, the plot is quickly shaken up with the addition of Hero and Actinium. I was really hoping for both relationships to do well. Their results were disappointing. The eventual full-circle aspect of the bots relationship off put some of the disappointment. The real show-stopping relationship was between Kay and Celia. No matter what happened, they each put each other first. Kay’s character was, in my opinion, the most developed character. She experiences personal growth while coming to terms with her personality and her talent. The switch between human to bot and vice versa between Celia and Kay was another aspect of how strong their bond is. Celia was kind of a let down character for me. Even though you learn a lot of information about her through her memories, it feels like you don’t really know all of her. The separation between Cee and Celia diminishes the personalities even more. Both Hero and Actinium felt “under-baked”. They both contained enough for you to understand their stories, but there was not enough to really know them. A lot of the book is dedicated the technological parts of the story. Although the message about protecting the earth is crucial, I personally prefer more character information over technology. If you enjoy technology, this is a great book for you.

The writing style of the book is a bit difficult to understand at the beginning with the technological terms. Once you get used to them, I have no complaints.

This was a beautiful story about sisters and how they will always prioritize each other. It also features a cautionary message surrounding preserving the earth.
