“Even in a sea, every life rippled far beyond its end.” - The Ones We’re Meant to Find.

Cee has been trapped on an abandoned island for three years without any recollection of how she arrived or memories from her life prior. All she knows is that somewhere out there she has a sister named Kay, and it’s up to Cee to cross the ocean to find her. In a world apart, STEM prodigy Kasey lives in an eco-city built for people who protected the planet-and now need protecting from it. With natural disasters in the rise, eco-cities provide clean air, water, and shelter. Their residents, in exchange, must spend at least a third of their time in stasis pods, conducting business virtually whenever possible. While Kasey doesn’t mind the lifestyle, her sister Celia hated it. Popular and lovable, Celia much preferred the outside world. But no one could have predicted that Celia would take a boat out to sea, never to return. Kasey has given up hope, but she decides to retrace Celia’s last steps. While her sister was full of secrets, Kasey has secrets of her own.

First thing first, this cover is simply gorgeous!! This story follows sisters Celia and Kasey during a time where much of the earth is inhabitable. They live in one of the eco-cities which is another way of life on it’s own. When her sister Celia goes missing, Kasey retraces her steps to find out what happened. This is just the surface of this story. This book, while in the upper 300 pages of length, is jam packed full of plot, dystopian worlds, and interesting advanced technology. In all honestly, it probably could have easily been a duology and I almost wish it was since we would have more time and understanding of the world. At some points it was a little difficult to understand because of the vast amount of information, but by the end all my questions were answered, so just stick with it. The plot of this book is so unique and really kept me interested. This is again a book about sisters and the dynamics of their relationship in this strange, new world they are in. I would definitely recommend this book if you love dystopian or science fiction reads.
