This was a different story for me. I was hesitant, because it does have a science fiction feel. The story telling though is very good. The shifts between the characters perspectives is fluid and smooth. I thought the author was extremely creative in how she had the sisters relate, and how it winds up at the end.
The COVER could be done differently. I will admit that I do somewhat judge by what is on the cover, especially if I am unfamiliar with the name of the author. In this case, I found it lacking to draw my eyes. The colors are too muted, and don't really do the story justice. And because of that, it sat on my TBR pile for much longer than it should.
I am grateful that I did read it however. It was a beautifully written story, that did give me a lot to think about. Things that I might do differently in the future. Because as the author said, everyone lives at the expense od someone else. The dominoes were set centuries ago, and most choices are made before we get to the edge.
