This book is one of my most anticipated reads of 2021, and these first two chapters immediately gripped me. I am intrigued by the worldbuilding of both Cee's island and the futuristic city where Kasey lives. I also loved the characterization of the sisters. Joan has managed to make them both so compelling from the start. The cover is also gorgeous. I love how it depicts both Cee and Kasey as well as the ocean, and the color palette is so pretty.
