I think the beginning of this book is really strong and definitely pulled in my attention. Why is the mc on an island alone? How did she get there? Why isn't her sister with her? Why can't she see color? I'm instantly pulled into wanting to know more about what's going on. Normally having so many questions at the beginning can make it hard to get into the story because your confusion overrides your curiosity, but I didn't feel that with this story. Which is a great sign.
