The Nine by Gwen Strauss is an amazing nonfiction books that looks at the true-life stories of nine women who were captured, imprisoned, and escaped from the Nazis during WWII.
These women were all in the Resistance and risked their lives to go against German occupation. Even after they were imprisoned, they never gave up and continued their fight against the Nazis and for survival. Reading their experiences and fight for survival is something that everyone needs to read. I will never forget this book. This book was so informative, fascinating, and suspenseful that the reader could easily forget that it is nonfiction. I would definitely recommend it!
