First of all, the cover. It's beautiful with each small photo of the nine women, shown over a photo of the Eiffel tower, meant to represent the stripes of the infamous striped pajamas that prisoners of the camps were made to wear. The cover art is perfect for this writing.
Throughout the book, the author took her time to introduce each woman to us in detail that allowed you to feel like you truly got to know the women. She changed timelines throughout the writing switching from giving the reader a history of the particular woman, to continuing the timeline of their escape from the death marches.
The sheer amount of information that the author was able to put into this book truly shows that this was a labor of love. She put countless hours of research into this book and it shows in how thorough she was with each piece of information she presented to the reader. I would recommend this book to anyone!
