I am not used to read books that are real-life experiences from someone's life, so it was a little bit difficult for me to get into reading this genre that was new for me. The stories are heavy to the heart, and mostly taking in count that these happened during a very difficult period worldwide. Besides the heavy realities these women had to experience, they also gave me hope, and strength in new ways. It taught me about inner strength and patience.
I liked the fact that there are actual pictures of places and people mentioned all thought the book. This helped me to have a better notion on how these people were dealing with, and it felt closed and known as I continues reading.
Like I said before, I am not used to reading this king of books, and mostly is because I associate them to textbooks or school homework, but the way this one is written it made the story so engaging in so many ways.
