This is story that has needed to be told. For too long history has been focused on HIS-story. "The Nine" recounts the truth of what has always been true, that women suffer and sacrifice as much, and often more, than men. It's always been OUR-story.
I've just read a few pages and been introduced to the first character, but already I know that I will not forget her. How these young women found the strength to survive, I don't know. The fact that they created new lives afterward is tremendously inspiring.
