I am really grateful I got to read a little about Helene's experience and what she and her friends survived during one of the most atrocious and horrific times in history. I can't even begin to imagine what happened to them when they were in concentration camps, being shipped from place to place, or marched until people simply collapsed until they couldn't go on anymore. Her courage and perseverance are humbling and inspiring.
