I am constantly in awe of the many pockets of history I know so little about - the heroes who are only now being talked about. This book is certainly a prime example of this, and I appreciated that right off the bat you are introduced to the nine women who successfully escaped a German work camp. I love that the book begins with the character glossary and a map - it set a sense of place immediately. My initial impression of the writing is that this is perhaps a first book - the narrative style particularly in the first couple of pages seems a little underdeveloped. Overall, though, I am interested in learning more about these women and their journey.
