I have always found WWII to be fascinating to learn about, especially from those that lived in those times, and went through the awful events that took place. My grandparents met as pen pals during this time when my grandpa was a solider fighting the Nazis in Germany, so it’s always held a personal family connection, too. I have done a bit of research into the subject, but obviously not enough, because I had never heard of this story before. The first look makes me anxious to get the opportunity to read the book in the future. I think it’s important that strong women are shown and read about for future generations and for the generation growing up right now. Not only will this novel inspire females, but I think that it will inspire all who read it. Everyone needs to hear a good heroic story every once in a while.
