I will admit that it took a little bit of time to get into the book. It started slow and a number of the early story lines seemed a little strange. However, as the story unfolded and context was provided, I soon reached a point where it was hard to put it down. I am glad I didn't give up on it.

Von Lustbader has created a new action star with Evan Ryder. (I am a little embarrassed to admit that when I first read her name I thought she was he). Anyway, Ryder is a very capable intelligence operative who has seen more than her share of danger. She prefers to work alone, but uses a couple of other people to help her determine who Nemesis is and to ultimately bring them down.

The story spans the globe, from Washington DC to Russia to Europe and points in between and Ryder searches for the people behind the killing of American and British intelligence officers. It starts slow, but it is a satisfying ride after all.
