I was into it! The Nemesis Manifesto is exciting and intriguing and a real page-turner, especially the last quarter of the book, I couldn't put it down!
I'm not normally a reader of political spy thrillers, I'm not into James Bond, or anything like that, so I don't know how this stacks up against other books in the genre. As someone unfamiliar with the tropes and expectations, I really enjoyed it. I thought it was well written, complicated without being too convoluted, and entertaining. The characters were all complex and had interesting backstories. I did have a little trouble keeping track of the who's who, there was a large cast and a lot of fake names being thrown into the mix!
I can see this turning into a good long series. Evan is one badass spy with just the right amount of heart. She never becomes the cold-hearted stereotype in the way that a lot of woman-doing-a-man's-job types of characters are written, nor is she a delicate damsel. She's competent and brilliant and while she's damaged in her way, she cares about her friends and coworkers.
I would definitely recommend this book!
