The book's opening failed to hook me into the story. I felt as if the author does a lot of telling and not enough showing. I'm not usually a huge fan of dramas encircling the POV of detectives, cops, etc. So I'm also not surprised that I wasn't drawn into this first impression. Perhaps fans of this genre may enjoy this sneak peek a little more.
