Although I do enjoy some political thrillers at times, I couldn't get into this one. The way the characters interacted seemed a little in the range of "You know, Bob" infodumping. I would have liked to have seen more action at first rather than a couple of characters talking. I know this isn't the author's fault, but I didn't care for the book's formatting either. The spacing between the lines of text was too close and it just gave an impression of being dry.
