Female Bond novel with a strong US political bent

I enjoyed this excerpt a lot considering it is not my usual genre. It did have errors which made it confusing, but basically a spy with a mysterious past is asked to take on a new case that has already killed several agents. She is a lone wolf sort of figure and extremely talented. The story had interesting development for her, but it splits off to give information about a simultaneous sub plot that will no doubt be part of the larger problem. That scene was less than interesting for me. But overall I’m intrigued. The writing is very well done for the most part. It has good pace and foreshadowing to keep the reader interested.
