This was such a cute and fun YA rom-com! I loved the concept of switching places with someone—each for their own reasons—and loved that while it was happening, it seemed to be without consequences. (Although who are we kidding, there are always consequences). Coming from a lower middle-class home where we had to work hard for everything, this exact scenario would have been an absolute dream come true for me growing up.
I loved how the switcheroo allowed each of the characters to get exactly what they wanted out of their summers—in so many ways. Exploring the city and living a “typical” crowded NYC experience, to showcasing organizational and management skill to a ridiculous degree. I do wish there had been a little more of the book dedicated to developing the relationship between the characters—but it was excellent as-is. I just wanted more of them!
