Jessica Lee and Elijah Lee find themselves in a bit of a predicament because they share the same Korean name (Lee Yoo-Jin). Elijah is a new intern at Haneul Company, where his father is the CEO. Jessica is the new executive-in-training. They each have taken on the role meant for each other. Once the two of them discover the mix-up, they decide to spend their summer switched. As Elijah and Jessica spend their summer interning, they also find themselves exploring New York and even exploring feelings that feel a lot like love.

The Name Drop is a YA romance that is a fast, cute read about two teens who come from completely different worlds. Elijah comes from a rich family and is used to getting everything he wants, but for once, he just wants to experience what it's like to live life without all the frills. Jessica comes from a working class family, is used to pinching pennies, and has never experienced the life of luxury. Each of them get to experience life from a different perspective while also learning great life lessons along the way. Both Elijah and Jessica's characters made exceptional growth over the course of this book, but especially Elijah. I actually enjoyed Elijah's character arc more than Jessica's. I do wish the romance aspect of this book was focused on a bit more since this is marketed as a romance book. I loved how Susan Lee was not afraid to write about topics such as inequities between class, gender, and race. After reading this novel, Seoulmates has been added to my TBR.
