I knew from the excerpt I would love this book and I was right. Tallulah's family life is unpredictable and I kept rooting for her throughout the book. Usually books with flashback dual timelines do not interest me, but I was invested in what happened in her past and what would happen to her as an adult. This book accurately describes summer in the south and I loved the author's writing style so much that I ordered one of her other books! I think this book does a pretty good job of describing a time when mental illness was something frowned upon and misunderstood and the effects that would have had on a family dealing with it. I loved how I resonated with the characters and I will reread this one sometime just to revisit them again!
