The Myth of Perpetual Summer draws readers in with the cover art, inviting them to stay for a spell on the Mississippi front porch of Tallulah James' childhood home. Tallulah's narration grabbed my attention from the first sentence, propelling me to claim the book for my very own. Written in the tradition of blockbuster books such as The Secret Life of Bees and Forrest Gump, the backdrop of the South during the Civil Rights era and the Vietnam War provides a very rich environment in which the characters can live and thrive. The Myth of Perpetual Summer is a book that I am very excited to read and one that I would heartily recommend.
