The Myth of Perpetual Summer opens with a prologue set in 1972 that introduces us to the main character, Tallulah James, a woman who has her life in order. So, of course, her life is getting ready to fall apart. She is estranged from most of her family and one of her brothers has been charged with homicide. To fight for him, she is going to have to leave her life in San Francisco to return to New Orleans and the people she left behind. With lyrical prose that will send you looking for Mint Juleps if you don't already have them on hand, Crandall's words have an authentic Southern flair that is instantly recognizable.

I read Whistling Past the Graveyard a few years back and loved it and I will definitely be looking forward to this book's release.
