Tallulah James works in public relations at a wealthy firm in San Francisco, but when she finds out that her little brother Walden has been arrested for murder, she takes a leave from her job and heads immediately to New Orleans. There we see her take many walks down memory lane: her life with a mother who wants to be called Margo, her father as a history professor, her brother Griff and his caring for her and the twins Dharma and Walden. The reader knows that the family fell apart when Tallulah was about nine years old, but we only get hints in this first view of what happened. This is a charming, mysterious look at the Old South and invites the reader to know more about the family that was part of it.
