Her life is simple and hard, but she gets joy in June- a girl not the month. Eleanor is chosen to be educated/ reformed at the Meadows, which aims to shape smart girls into well-mannered women, wives, and mothers. Eleanor and her friend Sheila internally balk at this and strive to figure out their society and what things were like in the before. If you like The Handmaids Tale, Gender Game series or other female voice driven dystopia novels, this is for you.
