Some of the finest dystopian tropes
In this world, climate crisis and natural disasters led to the downfall of humanity as we know it and the rise of the Quorum. In the new society, a generation or less old, racism is erased but economic hardships still exist. Eleanor comes from a single parent family in a coastal area. Her life is simple and hard, but she gets joy in June- a girl not the month. Eleanor is chosen to be educated/ reformed at the Meadows, which aims to shape smart girls into well-mannered women, wives, and mothers. Eleanor and her friend Sheila internally balk at this and strive to figure out their society and what things were like in the before. If you like The Handmaids Tale, Gender Game series or other female voice driven dystopia novels, this is for you.
