Honestly, I wasn't sure if "The Meadows" would be a novel that would hold my interest. Mainly because I no longer fall into the YA demographic and I find most YA novels to be a bit too juvenile. Boy, was I pleasantly surprise! Ms. Oaks is such a talented author. Anyone can learn to write, but it takes talent to take it to that next level. From the first page in which she describes the setting to the interesting characters of Eleanor, her friends and the matrons, and the unique and original plot, I'm hooked!
