With its gorgeously alluring cover and exciting premise, I’d like to think this is something I could rally get into. Additionally, I had loved Oaks’ contribution to Things We Haven’t Said. So far, however, the writing in this feels emotionless - almost dead - and I am just not finding that appealing. Perhaps it will get better. Perhaps the writing style is intentional. Perhaps it will all make sense in the end.
