The Meadows begins quietly, the way so many good dystopias do. A familiar cafe, a familiar world—and then the creeping sense of wrongness that spirals into layered flashbacks. I was immediately drawn in by the structure of the novel, which deftly establishes Eleanor as someone keenly curious and perceptive, a perfect guide in a novel that from the start relies on a vocabulary of place and plot that we don't have access to yet. I want to know about The Glades and the Turn and Rose...this is a book I'm crossing my fingers for!
