The prose in this First Impression is absolutely stunning. The imagery is effective, but not overdone and the word choice is immaculate. The writing makes the jarring halts that much more effective. This beautiful, peaceful world is presented, then interrupted repeatedly with small revelations about the horrid conditions that lead here, and those still to come. I would love to receive a copy of this arc so I can take in the rest sooner but I will absolutely be obtaining a copy of my own as soon as possible either way.
