More interesting than I thought it would be.
From the first few chapters I read, I was surprised to find myself more interested in the story than I thought I would be. The writing, ideas and thoughts flow easily enough and the characters are likeable to the point you can actually see them carrying the buckets up the stairs from the bottom of the ship as they return to England. The family ties are interesting and the jobs as they leave to go to the New world.
I only gave the story two stars because, even though I enjoyed it, there was not really enough to adequately rate the book. If I were at the bookstore I would continue to read and then probably purchase the book. I have not read any other works in this series, but if they're like this one they should be excellent.
