This setting is new for me I really enjoyed the story and the writing style, I thought that it was slow to start but it picked up as the story went on. I loved how the author created a story of how life must have been while dealing with the harsh every struggles of living on the Mayflower. I also loved the way she wove in bits and pieces of history to further her story. I have always been fascinated with history but I never really looked into the first colonists, but now I am thinking that I might have to do some personal research. I am also excited to read the second book in the series. If you are looking for a great historical read that blends fact and fiction seamlessly then this is definitely the book for you!
