It was OK
When I first read the premise of the book, it sounded interesting. The idea is certainly a good one, and the characters she created seem interesting. I like the author's idea of mixing fictional characters with actual Mayflower settlers. I don't think many Americans know much about these particular settlers from Holland, and that could make this a useful historical fiction book. We know a lot about the Puritans because they were the primary movers and shakers on the Mayflower.
However, the writing is kind of simple so far at least, and there's not much promise of their life to come onshore, much less what Elizabeth will actually accomplish. I'd be interested in reading another few chapters before I buy the book.
