I have not read much from this time period. I think the only time I have read anything from or about this time period was one college English course and to be honest I found it extremely dull. Thee was no drama and pretty much I remember only reading about voyages and supplies. This book took that time period added some spice to it. The characters are full of life and personality. I like how the main character has a childish attitude as well as being grownup. I think it is a realistic view of a woman in her twenties. Still a bit a child but more grown up. The plot is a bit dull in my opinion but I could see that it was leading to something more adventurous. I can imagine the rest of the book has more detail and travel in it.
