This is one of the worst books I have ever read. The main character cried almost the entire time. Maybe I should've known but I had no idea religion was going to play such a big part of this whole thing. Not that I mind that at all but it felt like every line was saying god is going to do this and god is going to do that. It never really developed well past that particular point. It was a pretty short book so it didn't take me long to finish but I didn't enjoy the experience at all. It was annoying to be honest. I couldn't wait for it be over. I think the experience of immigrants going to the new world was portrayed accurately though. If you're someone who likes books about people finding faith then I recommend this book but if you're a fan of good writing, I wouldn't pick it up.
