The Mayflower Bride follows Mary Elizabeth as she travels from Holland to the New World aboard the Speedwell in 1620 as a Separatist. The premise of this book doesn't overly interest me, as I am not usually a fan of books with religious overtones, but I thought I would read the excerpt to get an overall taste of the book anyway. While this book might appeal to some audiences, as the story itself does sound somewhat interesting, it does not appeal to me. The writing is overly-simplistic and I just couldn't get into it.
