Not my genre
The cover if the book is beautiful and it really encapsulates the time period. The writing felt stiff and I didn't enjoy reading from Mary Elizabeth's point of view. I liked reading from Peter's point of view much better, however there wasn't too much of him in this First Impression. There are a lot of period words (such as cornet) that are barely used at all in the prologue, and then all of a sudden there are a whole bunch of them all at once, followed by another stretch without them. They should be spread out more.
