I thought the cover was attractive. As someone who enjoys Historical Fiction, I was drawn to both the topic, and time period. However, I found the writing to be dull. The characters, the setting, even the ship lacked any real description or depth. This excerpt did not create an enticement to read further. I would not buy, nor recommend this book as is.
