I like that this book starts right away with the voyage, but then actually takes its time building character motivation and the world around them. It's quite consistently paced, and I feel like with more time, it's only going to become more and more engaging. I like the characters and how aptly they behave for the time period they live in, and it seems like a promising book for its genre.
