Anticipation - for both the reader and the characters

This First Impression is filled with wonderful characters and an exciting story. I found myself able to instantly relate to Mary Elizabeth - maybe because she is excited to find out what is going on and is sneaking around in the prologue, or maybe because she is excited but scared to see what the new adventure will bring. Either way, I want to read the rest of the story to see what happens next!
