I was interested in this book as something to read with my 7 year old together -- in lieu of other magic school books -- and I was so enchanted from the very first page. It's especially nice to be sharing a book about a young girl with my daughter, as well as broadening her horizons when it comes to lives unlike her own--which is the purpose of fiction, yes?
The world was fun and full of mystery, the characters smart and quirky. We've really had a wonderful time exploring this story together, and I'm glad we picked it up!
My daughter especially loves the humor between the classmates and friends (just enough 'poop' and 'fart' to be funny and realistic without it being too much! ;) But this book also has this lovely outlook on learning and understanding the world, and yourself, that I've really enjoyed presenting to my daughter. I can't wait to read more in this world.
