This was an excellent middle grade fantasy book! I loved the magic school setting in this one! The author did a great job with the world building, this book also had a cool magic system. In this book we follow Ella Durand who is the first Conjuror to go to the Arcanum Training Institute. The Marveller students didn’t like Ella and didn’t trust her conjur magic as they believed it was unnatural and bad. I loved Ella’s character and enjoyed following her as she navigated being the first conjuror at the school. She faced a lot of difficult challenges throughout this book and I loved seeing how she handled them. I also really liked the friends she made throughout this book.
